Sitting comfortably sounds like it should be simple. But if your chair doesn’t support you properly, or your wheelchair isn’t set up for your body, something that basic can become the hardest part of the day.
Maybe it’s pressure pain that builds after twenty minutes. Maybe you’ve watched someone you love give up things they used to enjoy. Or maybe you’re a clinician who’s run out of options with your current supplier.
Too often, people are told this is just how it is. We don’t think that’s good enough. Comfort should be the starting point.
Poor seating does real damage. It leads to pressure injuries, loss of mobility, increased falls risk, and for people in hospital, longer stays and slower rehabilitation. People stop socialising. Independence slips away.
For hospitals, the wrong equipment means higher clinical risk and increased cost of care. The good news? Most of this is avoidable with the right equipment, properly set up.
Everything we make or supply is chosen for one thing: comfort. Real, measurable, clinical comfort that improves outcomes and quality of life.
Our Lento range is our flagship: fully adjustable specialist chairs with Levitex Cradle Cushion technology, built to last over a decade and adapt as needs change. The HiBack is our newest, a bedside chair designed with NHS clinicians for hospital wards. Alongside seating, we supply specialist beds and mattresses, powered and manual wheelchairs, tilt-in-space chairs, wheelchair power-assist systems, special seating systems, hoists, slings, and moving and handling equipment.
Every recommendation starts with a conversation. We work closely with the people who use our equipment, and the clinicians who specify it, to get the fit right.
Every product we design or select is built around comfort as a core principle. If it doesn't help someone feel better, it doesn't make the cut.
Our team includes seating specialists, an occupational therapist, and experienced engineers. We've worked with clinicians and patients for over fifty years.
From your first phone call through to servicing, repairs, and adjustments years down the line, we're here for the long run.
Our equipment is in NHS hospitals across more than 80% of trusts in the country, from chairs on individual wards through to full Seating Standardisation projects across multiple sites within a trust.
At home, we work with individuals and families who need the right chair, bed, or wheelchair. Many come to us after trying other options that haven’t worked.
We also work with hospices, care home groups, community OT teams, councils, equipment loan stores, case managers in rehabilitation and litigation, and international distributors. The approach is always the same: listen first, then find the right solution.
Karlyn and Jordan both deserve gold stars. Amazing service as always. Highly recommended and my gramps scooter is in great shape for another 2 years.
The whole service from quote to delivery has been amazing! All communications can't be faulted!
The person who came was so helpful, he explained what to do if the failure happened again.
Give us a call or fill in the form on our website. One of our seating specialists will talk through your situation and help work out the best options. It's a proper conversation, not a sales pitch. If you're a clinician or procurement team, we're happy to discuss individual patient needs or wider trust-level projects.
We can carry out a free assessment by video call, at your home, or in our showroom in Wetherby. You'll be able to see and try the equipment. For private customers, we offer a money-back guarantee and hire options so you're never stuck with something that isn't right.
Our products are built to last. Chairs come with a 5-year frame warranty, and our in-house engineers handle servicing and repairs. We're always at the end of the phone if you need us. As needs change over time, equipment can be adjusted to keep up.
We started in 1972 when Martin Tennent began making medical devices from his garage in Headingley, Leeds. Over fifty years later, we’re still a family business in our third generation, still manufacturing in West Yorkshire.
For most of that time we were called Yorkshire Care Equipment. As we grew to cover the whole UK and started sending products abroad every week, the name no longer fitted. Today we’re Vivid Care, and our equipment is on every continent (apart from perhaps Antarctica)!

Vivid Care sits within the privately owned CoreCare Group alongside Innova Care Concepts (healthcare facility design and fitout) and Aquadapt (accessible bathing and adaptations). That gives us financial stability, shared specialist resources, and deep logistics experience across the NHS, including supporting the Nightingale Hospitals and vaccine centres during COVID.
It also means we’re not going anywhere. Fifty-plus years and counting, and we plan to be here for the next fifty.
We care about our customers, and we care about the world around us too. We’re working towards carbon neutrality by 2045 in support of the Greener NHS programme, and we take our community responsibilities seriously.
If you’d like to try equipment in person, you’re welcome to visit our showroom in Wetherby by appointment. We run demonstrations, trials, and individual seating assessments, and there’s wheelchair access and parking on site.
Whether you've got a quick question, need help with a complex seating challenge, or want to discuss a trust-wide project, we'd love to hear from you. No pressure, no obligation. Just give us a call or fill in the form and we'll take it from there.
