Our lovely client Susan, who has advanced MS, came in contact with us following an internet search for a suitable healthcare seating provider. After an initial contact with another company was unsuccessful, her partner got in touch with us for some help and advice.
Susan lives with her partner in their home in Glossop, Derbyshire. When she got in touch with us, she was using her wheelchair as a day chair, which was causing her discomfort and leading to development of poor posture. Due to the advanced nature of her condition, she had no mobility from the neck down, and needed hoisting in and out of her chair.
After finding out about the daily challenges Susan was experiencing with discomfort and other aspects of her condition, our trained advisor took down some key information so we could visit her home and carry out a free, no-obligation seating assessment.
Before our seating assessor Harry went out to do the assessment, he used his clinical judgement to decide which chair would most likely work best, knowing the nature of her condition and the lack of postural control she had. At the assessment, Harry hoisted Susan into the Lento Care chair, and adjusted the seat width, depth, footplate height and arm height to the correct size for her.
